Under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King of Bahrain President of the Supreme Council for Women, UN Women Executive Director Dr. Sima Bahous spoke at the ceremony to celebrate Bahraini Women's Day, held at the new Athar monument site on November 30, 2022.

The ceremony celebrated the achievements of Bahraini women during the country's history and in 2022 and recognized the winners of the second edition of the Princess Sabeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women's Empowerment, supported by the UN Women Regional Office for the Arab States.
